Three friends- Sam, Tom and Shadrach decided to
go out for picnic, they arranged the sandwiches and some assorted fruits into a
picnic basket, and they carried mat as well as piquant wine and embarked on the
journey 12 kilometers away.
After 2hours, they arrived at
the destination feeling exhausted-they emptied the items from the basket, Sam
laid the mat and arranged the sandwiches in a pleasant manner, while Tom was
busy sweeping decomposed leaves to create a congenial environment. Just then,
Sam discovered they had forgotten to bring along their cutleries. He called Tom
and notified him so they both pleaded with Shadrach to go back home (4hours
journey) to retrieve the cutleries –Shadrach refused completely, but after much
inducement from his friends, he reluctantly agreed and set out for the glorious
journey back home.
Sam and Tom waited for 3hours
but no sign of Shadrach’s return. By now, they are extremely ravenous- they
however, controlled their desire and decided to wait for another 3hours-Yet
Shadrach didn’t show up-Sam and Tom couldn’t hold back their hunger anymore, so
they both decided to take just a pair of sandwich and divide it simultaneously,
just as they were about to bite off their sandwich, Shadrach popped out behind
a small piece of rock and shouted “I knew it!, Ehen, I knew it!! I knew you
were going to cheat me, thank God I have not gone before and I am not going
again!”
Moral
of the story.
The time you waste not contributing your own
quota to the achievement of set goals and objectives in your endeavors is more
than the time you ought to spend to achieve it. Take a positive step to
ameliorate today!!!
